Associate members or profile candidates who wish to progress to become a professional Architectural Technician (TCIAT) must complete the Architectural Technician Professional and Occupational Performance (POP) Record, under the supervision of an approved Supervisor. The Architectural Technician grade of membership is not open to individuals who are self-employed.
Candidates with an HNC/D qualification or Foundation degree may find that they have exemption within the Underpinning Knowledge sections of the Architectural Technician POP Record.
If you are self-employed and do not have the approved qualifications or ten years’ relevant experience, you are still required to complete the Architectural Technician POP Record, but you will not be able to use the designation TCIAT, whilst registered as a profile candidate.
