On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor
CIAT/RIBA Accreditation Scheme for Energy Assessors of newly constructed dwellings (England and Wales)
From 6 August 2008, all members of CIAT, RIBA, RIAS and industry experts with the appropriate skills are invited to join the scheme by logging on to www.architectural-epc.co.uk
Important: please ensure you familiarise yourself with how the scheme operates and the costs involved before subscribing. To do this, please visit the frequently asked questions at www.architectural-epc.co.uk/Faqs.aspx
What is the process of joining?
- For those applicants that have already noted their interest, please logon using the account that you set up during this initial stage of registration. If you have forgotten your password there is a "Forgotten Password" link on the Member logon page. If you have forgotten your user logon name please contact support@architectural-epc.co.uk
- For new applicants, please proceed straight to the Register page on the Architectural-EPC website by clicking the link "Register" on the Scheme home page. This first step will register your interest. This is free and carries no obligation, but allows Architectural EPC to keep you informed of the progress of the Scheme as it develops. During the registration process you will be asked to confirm a user name, password, contact details, your CIAT, RIBA or RIAS registration number and your level of competency.
What happens next?
You will then be asked to subscribe to the scheme. The costs are as follows:
- Application fee for members of CIAT, RIBA and RIAS is £150 + VAT
- Annual membership for members of CIAT, RIBA and RIAS is £100 + VAT
- Application fee for other industry experts (non-CIAT/RIBA/RIAS) is £200 + VAT
- Annual membership for other industry experts is £150 + VAT
- As part of the registration, SAP tests are set and marked independently by Home Energy and Data Services Limited on behalf of Architectural EPC. Each test is sent and must be returned electronically and there is a marking fee of £20+VAT per test.
Architectural EPC will then verify that you are a member of one of the professional Institutes or that you qualify as an industry expert and you will receive an email confirming this verification.
Architectural EPC will assess the areas that pre-qualify you (via APEL) and the additional tests you may need to complete to demonstrate competence. We will then email you to confirm this and you can then move through the appropriate competency tests to qualify for full membership of the scheme.
