Although the recommended course of studying is the Honours degree, you can still qualify by choosing to study a built environment related subject, Higher National Certificate or Higher National Diploma (HNC/HND). Depending on the modules attained in your HNC/HND you may receive exemptions within the POP Record. A list of required modules is available from membership@ciat.org.uk
If you choose not to study to gain a formal qualification you may still join the Institute and progress as a professionally qualified Architectural Technician or Chartered Architectural Technologist through experience and self-learning.
Common Best Practice Code for High Quality Internships
CIAT supports the Common Best Practice Code for High Quality Internships, developed by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) Collaborative Forum on Fair Access to the Professions.
The Code offers advice to employers seeking high-quality internships and describes the key components needed to maximise the benefits of internships for interns and employers.
