Six universities receive CIAT Accreditation

The Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) has awarded six universities Full Accreditation for their degree programmes in Architectural Technology.

The Robert Gordon University, Sheffield Hallam University, Southampton Solent University and University of Huddersfield all received certificates of re-Accreditation, which symbolises ten years of continued recognition by CIAT for their degree programmes.

University of Central Lancashire and University of the West of England received their certificate of Full Accreditation for the first time. The presentation was made by Mark Kennett, President at the CIAT Presidents’ Annual Dinner Dance in Manchester on 17 November.

Since 2001, CIAT has awarded over fifteen degree programmes with Full Accreditation and granted the title of an Accredited Centre for Learning and Teaching in Architectural Technology.

Colin Orr MCIAT, Vice-President Education, said ‘the Institute has been Accrediting Honours degree programmes in Architectural Technology since 1995 and I am delighted that we are now recognising our ten year relationship with four of these universities which continue to push the boundaries of the Architectural Technology discipline.’
