Technician

Associate members or profile candidates who wish to progress to become a professional Architectural Technician (TCIAT) must complete the Architectural Technician Professional and Occupational Performance (POP) Record, under the supervision of an approved Supervisor. The Architectural Technician grade of membership is not open to individuals who are self-employed.

Candidates with an HNC/D qualification may find that they have exemption within the Underpinning Knowledge sections of the Architectural Technician POP Record. Please refer to the knowledge map within the POP Record.

If you are self-employed and do not have the approved qualifications or ten years’ relevant experience, you are still required to complete the Architectural Technician POP Record, but you will not be able to use the designation TCIAT.
