I studied Architectural Technology at Sheffield Hallam University and found the four years that I spent there (including one year work placement) as the most enjoyable years of my life!
Perhaps the most pleasing aspect is that from going to university with very little knowledge of the course and industry that I was studying, I?am now involved in live projects, four years later after finishing university, with the confidence to put what I had learned into practice, and also have the confidence to enter my work in a national competition.
Since leaving university, I have joined a practice in the south east called Lyons Sleeman Hoare, where I am currently working as a Trainee Architectural Technologist and working towards Chartered status. Since working at the practice, I have been involved in a variety of projects stemming from retail fit-outs to large residential leisure schemes, and although my future aspirations would be to work on a sustainable environmental design project, I have found the experiences gained from the last year working invaluable.
