Jonathan read Architectural Technology at Sheffield Hallam University in 2003 achieving a first class honours and progressing to win the 2007 Student Award for Technical Excellence for his unique concept and construction detailing of a school for the future.
Since graduating Jonathan has spent two years working in Dublin, Republic of Ireland for Kavanagh Tuite Architects. Whilst in Dublin Jonathan worked on numerous buildings from large offices development, listed dwellings, residential buildings, refurbishments, hotels and student halls. Jonathan aided Kavanagh Tuite by initiating 3D modelling and sustainability procedures along with acting as mentor in these practices. Kavanagh Tuite allowed immersion into the design and detail of buildings whilst furthering his knowledge of design and legality.
After leaving Dublin in May 2009 Jonathan spent one year travelling visiting 17 countries around the world returning back to the UK to start a new career in central London.
As of July 2010 Jonathan has held a position with Niche Architects of Westminster acting as an Associate Architectural Technologist. Niche Architects are a young practice, established in 2008 with numerous commissions over a variety of sectors. Having just completed the practices first new build property in south London the company has its sights set on completing a new 4000m2 civic assembly building with a 1000 seat auditorium in the coming year.
Jonathan now has his sights set on progressing to MCIAT, building his own home and gaining additional qualifications.
