Case Study: Phil Cresswell MCIAT

I became an Architectural Technologist because I wanted to work at the heart of the construction industry, and this has been achieved. I've been fortunate enough to work at both a technical and professional level within the industry and now hold office within Staffordshire's Children and Lifelong Learning Directorate as the Strategic Property Officer. My role is very simple and works to making learning for young people better by providing effective property solutions. 

I am able to add value to the design development and construction process by working as part of an intelligent client looking at need and requirement to inform what needs to be built, where and why for the benefit of whom.
 
The project which I would to highlight is Redbrook Hayes this is a new IFE DfES Exemplar Primary School within the heart of a diverse former mining community, now undergoing regeneration, the school playing a fundamental role to help the growth of a local sustainable community. The project has been designed by Walters and Cohen (London); my role has been central in the procurement process and design and construction deliverables. The community and education benefits of providing a new school such as Redbrook Hayes are hard to describe.
