Launched in September 2005 to showcase the achievements of exceptional family businesses, the Coutts Prize for Family Business is now entering its 4th year. In addition to championing family businesses the Coutts Prize for Family Business is part of Coutts family business education programme and nominees will be able to ask for feedback from the independent evaluation committee of family business owners, academics and advisers.
To be eligible for nomination for the Coutts Prize for Family Business, businesses must:
• Have their headquarters in England orWales.
• Be wholly or mainly carrying on a trading activity.
• Be companies or firms over which the family have significant influence
• Consider themselves a family business, though family members need not be involved in the management of the firm.
Nominations are divided into three regions, London and Greater London, Northern England and the Midlands, Southern England and Wales, and three turnover categories small £1-5m, medium £5-25m and large £25m+.
