Bjarne Winterburg, Danish architect and urban planner will be the guest speaker at the second urban design public lecture.
Wednesday 9 April at 7.30pm in Birmingham`s award-winning Town Hall.
As Birmingham aspires to be a `liveable` city, one of its major challenges is to humanise the modernist legacy of urban highways and roads. Bjarne Winterburg of the internationally acclaimed Ramboll Nyvig, has been working on international urban projects where context sensitive design, and visual and spatial coherence to squares, streets, buildings and public spaces has recreated settings for civic life. Bjarne will share his vision and design concepts for transforming roads into streets with the aim of influencing Birmingham`s urban future. Bjarne will talk for 45 minutes followed by 15 minutes for discussion. Tickets are only £5.
