Now in its third successful year, Asset 08: Managing and Relocating the Government Estate has established itself as the must attend event in the public sector asset management and relocation conference calendar.
This year’s high-profile and prestigious conference promises to be our most popular and well attended asset management event to date, with over 300 key decision-makers from across the UK, and a high level line-up of over 20 speakers and 19 exhibitors in attendance to discuss the latest topics affecting the industry.
Chief Secretary to the Treasury, the Rt Hon Yvette Cooper MP will be in attendance to discuss the Operational Efficiency Programme, which forms a key part of the government’s drive to achieve greater efficiency across public spending, with the potential to deliver billions of pounds worth of savings. Mike Burt, Director of Government Relocation and Asset Management at the Office of Government Commerce will be discussing the government’s High Performing Property Programme and the estimated savings that can be achieved by improved space utilisation and better procurement of FM services and property leases.
Asset 08 will also feature keynote addresses from Jonathon Porritt who will be discussing the creation of the new centre of expertise in sustainable procurement, and Sir Peter Gershon, who will cover his original review, and the recently launched operational efficiency programme, known as Gershon 2. The day will be completed by a high-level panel discussion that will consider all of the main issues raised during the day regarding asset management and relocation strategies.
