The Natural Stone Show 2008

Network, learn and profit from some of the leading figures within the industry at the CPD-accredited Natural Stone and Building Conservation Conference 2008 taking place in conjunction with the Natural Stone Show at ExCeL from 11-13 March 2008.

Themed around all aspects of working with stone in the construction sector you can choose from around 30 papers with New Build featuring in the morning sessions from 11:00 to 13:00 and Conservation in the afternoons from 13:30 to 16:30.

Admission is free and highlights include:

Stone in Modern Architecture - Offsite Manufacture: This session explores the versatility of stone in modern methods of construction. How developments in the offsite manufacture of stone rainscreens, lightweight panels and precast can remove cladding from the critical path on fast track projects.

English Heritage Research Projects: English Heritage and Academia report on a range of research projects focusing on specialist stone-related issues.

English Stone Forum: This forum looks at how the industry can work with its stakeholders to promote the availability and supply of indigenous stone for the maintenance of the built heritage and new build.

Setting the Standard: How experience and best practice complement standards to achieve exemplary results.

Stone in the City: Stone Federation Great Britain provide an overview on the contemporary use of stone from the selection process to the finished project.

Training in Stone Conservation: The speakers present a range of training initiatives being organised on a local, regional and national level, to tackle the long term shortages within stone conservation.
