Building safer communities - training opportunities

17 Sep 2008

Facts

Sustainable environments, place making and safe and secure homes are all leading government and local authority targets.

A recent audit commission report stated that 53% of people rate low crime as being the most important factor in making somewhere a good place to live.

Architectural Technologists, Architectural Technicians, architects, urban designers, planners, social landlords and community safety professionals all need the tools and training to design and manage crime and anti social behaviour.

We now need to recognise these facts and provide the skills and tools so that those needs can be met.

Following demands from customers, businesses and the public sector, BRE - the world leading Building Research Establishment - plans to fill the gap.

BRE is proud to announce the launch of its first community safety/security training programme. Initially there will be three different courses presented by Dr Tim Pascoe, Chairman of the Designing Out Crime Association:

· Building Safer Communities: Place making by Designing and Managing out Crime - 17 October 2008
· Building Safer Communities: Problem solving by Managing Crime and the Fear of Crime  - 20 October 2008
· Building Safer Communities: Tackling Anti Social Behaviour  - 24 October 2008

Each course will be held at BRE's dedicated training centre and  includes lunch, course notes and certificate of attendance for CPD. If you would like to learn more about these exciting training opportunities and book a place please click on the course hyperlink or contact BRE Training  01923 664829.
