2007 Planning and Design for Heritage and Development Conference, Dublin

20 Aug 2007

This two-day conference addresses the often vexed issue of how heritage and development can co-exist. Today when these two worlds meet views and perceptions often become polarised and entrenched. In many instances it becomes a case of ‘Either/Or’. Either we have heritage or we have development. While this may be true in some cases in others it is possible, and perhaps desirable, for the two to coexist. This is of course best achieved at the planning and design stage.

This conference highlights some of the issues raised by the interaction of heritage and residential and commercial development.

Planning and Design for Heritage and Development features speakers from Ireland, Sweden, Spain, Britain, Italy and Germany. They cover an eclectic range of topics. It promises to be an interesting and stimulating couple of days.
