Operations Director
The role of Operations Director incorporates the running of the Finance Department and office management.
The role of Operations Director incorporates the running of the Finance Department and office management. Les deals with anything bearing a £ or € sign, e.g. budget setting and monitoring, maintaining financial accounts and preparing reports for annual audit. He also controls the bank accounts, organises the collection of income including members’ subscriptions, and the settlement of invoices.
The office management role is broad, covering anything from ensuring light bulbs work, to overseeing office safety issues and arranging maintenance of the building and fixtures.
Practice and Technical Director
The Practice and Technical Department develops practice services including contractual aids, provides information on practice, technical and conduct issues, works on legislative, regulatory and standards issues and ensures CIAT is at the forefront and represented externally.

Pauline is responsible for administering and maintaining the Register of Practices and dealing with most issues relating to the running of a CIAT registered practice and provides administrative support to the Department.

Graham deals with the administration and monitoring of the complaints procedure, provides support to the Practice and Technical Taskforces, ensures that members providing a service have professional indemnity insurance in place and monitors the requisite continuing professional development (CPD) for members.

Education Director and International Director
The Education Department is responsible for the implementation and promotion of educational developments within the discipline of Architectural Technology and the wider construction industry.

As well as supporting Higher Education establishments offering CIAT Accredited Honours degrees in Architectural Technology and approved courses such as Foundation degrees and HNC/Ds, this Department has to keep up to date with the industry, including legislative changes.
This ensures that all members are qualified to the necessary standard, be they in practice or still in study by ensuring the correct education and training is available and accessible to them.
The Department is also responsible for the innovation and research strategies of CIAT, both in the UK and internationally.

Assistant Communications Director
In addition to editing Architectural Technology magazine, Adam has overall responsibility for all the Institute's communications and promotions. This includes issuing press releases, attending press conferences and organising CIAT?s attendance at trade fairs.

Adam has particular responsibility for the website and the Institute’s IT requirements. He is also responsible for the design and production of corporate merchandise and publications such as the Annual Review and careers handbook. He also supervises magazine and online advertising, and both postal and electronic mailings.
In his role as the Institute’s Archivist, he was the author of 2005’s CIAT history, Forty Years On.
Receptionist
Silvia manages the busy CIAT switchboard, organises the Institute's external and internal postal deliveries and carries out Regional/Centre mailings.
