There was a very informative and entertaining CPD event held on 29 March 2010 at UCLAN, Preston. Not surprisingly, given the nature of the talk, this event was well attended. The talk was given by Martin Conlon of Assent Building Control. The subject for his talk was changes to Approved Document Part L. For those who were unable to attend there are no radical changes planned, however, present standards of insulation are to be ratcheted up.
The North West Region AGM was also held on 29 March 2010, again there was a good turnout. The North West Regional Committee was up for re-election, Ian Pawson and Keith Sutcliffe both stood down, I would record the Committee’s thanks to them both in their service.
Peter Wilkinson has agreed to join the Committee.
The Committee positions were agreed after the AGM and they all remain the same with the exception of Stephen Nicholls who becomes our new Chairman.
The minutes of the AGM are posted on the website – have a look at them to see what is happening.
After the North West Region AGM the voting members for the main 2010 AGM in Guernsey were discussed. It was agreed that the following members will go to Guernsey as voting members; Paul Greenwood, Vincent Clifford, Steve Howarth and Frank Cordingley (reserve John Williams). They will vote on any resolutions which are to be put forward.
Keep an eye on the website for any upcoming CPD events. Mark Turner is presently arranging the next event.
